53 year old who had a left mastectomy 10/02; now with a skin expander — awaiting permanent implant.  She also has had radiation (it can be done with the plastic surgeon and radiation oncologist in agreement). 4/03

 

This 51 year old has had bilateral mastectomies — The right in '98 and a prophylactic left in '00.  She had DIEP reconstruction in Atlanta in 2001 after her implants didn't work out.  I see her yearly now and we follow a "lump" of fat necrosis in her new right breast. 4/03

This 48 yr old woman has a strong family history of breast cancer-In 1991 she decided of have preventative mastectomies and silicone implant reconstructions - She has had no regrets and no complications from her surgery now over 10 years! 12/03

  This 46 year old had a small lump biopsied in '00. She has a strong family history though BRCA negative and elected to have prophylactic mastectomies. It took her over a year to feel comfortable with implants but now she does and will talk and show them to new patients. 12/03
   
   
   
   
  This 47 year old had surgery in 5/01.It was her choice to have bilateral mastectomies. She doesn't think she has the best results but is happy to have a shape in clothes and not to have the worry of more mammograms. 11/03
